New research has found repeated influenza vaccination in older adults is twice as effective in preventing severe influenza in those admitted to the hospital for the virus, compared with nonsevere cases, and that this effect is consistent regardless of flu season, virus subtypes or age of patient. Subcutaneous Prophylaxis with Bispecific Monoclonal Antibody Reduces Bleeding Rate in Hemophilia A and Inhibitors

Findings from a multinational Phase III study involving 109 male participants with hemophilia A and inhibitors showed that once-weekly subcutaneous prophylactic administration of an investigational bispecific humanized monoclonal antibody (emicizumab; ACE910) was associated with a significantly lower rate of bleeding events than no prophylaxis. • DAPTOMYCIN (TEVA)

DAPTOMYCIN (injection) is indicated for the treatment of adult and pediatric patients (1 to 17 years old) with complicated skin and skin structure infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus (including methicillin-resistant isolates), Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae subsp. Equisimilis and Enterococcus faecalis (vancomycin-susceptible isolates only). It is not indicated to treat pneumonia. It comes in 500 mg lyophilized powder for reconstitution in a single-dose vial.
